4th Class Animation Project

What's the Video About?

Ms Duffy and her fourth class took part in a wonderful animation project in the Autumn of this year. The Nerve Centre Belfast worked along with Donegal Library Service and in partnerships with library authorities in Counties Meath, Sligo and Libraries NI on the Colmcille 1500 Digital Schools’ Folklore Animation Project with a total of 20 schools across the 4 counties.

Our class applied and were lucky to be chosen to be part of this amazing project.

It was managed and delivered remotely by the Nerve Belfast Creative Learning Centre.

The class researched all the stories and history relating to Colmcille. The children have then developed and created their chosen Colmcille story to retell as an animation. This involved working remotely with Danny from the Nerve Centre.

Many months were involved in the planning and work for this project by the children and all those involved.

It covered Art, Drama, History, English and Religion. The children thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity and it unleashed the animator in many of the children.

They were extremely proud of their part in the film – and rightly so. We hope you all enjoy the film. Whitecross School is at the end of the video.
